I was trying to get through a bush/tree that was blocking my path and my companion started laughing and moving away from me. I asked her what was wrong and if something was on me and she nodded and continued to step further away. At this point I began to feel a large spider crawling down my arm from my shoulder. I brushed it off and it landed near my leg. It was an extremely large blue spider and it looked confused. The spider turned around looked at me and jumped back onto my arm.
Dreams involving obstacles, such as your experience with the bush or tree blocking your path, often symbolize challenges or barriers you might be facing in your waking life. The fact that you were trying to push through indicates a desire to overcome these obstacles and move forward in some aspect of your life, whether it be personal, professional, or emotional.
Your companion's laughter and retreat may suggest feelings of isolation or inadequacy. In times of struggle, it’s not uncommon to feel as though those around you are unaware of your challenges or even dismissive of them. Her reaction could reflect your own anxieties about how others perceive your struggles, and it may highlight a longing for support that you did not receive in that moment.
The spider, particularly a large blue one, is rich in symbolism. Spiders often represent creativity, feminine energy, and the intricate webs we weave in our lives—both the ones we construct and the ones we find ourselves trapped in. The color blue frequently relates to calmness, communication, and exploring deeper emotions. Thus, the spider could signify an emotional or creative aspect of your life that feels daunting yet intriguing. The spider looking confused as it jumps back onto your arm could suggest that you might feel overwhelmed by your creativity or the complexities of your emotions, yet there is also a willingness to confront them.
Brushing off the spider signifies your desire to manage or remove the burdens or stresses in your life, whether they come from within or from external sources. However, the spider's return may symbolize that these feelings or challenges are persistent and will require you to address them directly rather than simply avoiding them.
Overall, your dream could be urging you to acknowledge both the barriers you're facing and the creative or emotional challenges represented by the spider. It invites reflection on how to navigate your path forward—consider what 'spider' in your life you need to confront and how to engage with both the challenges you face and the complexities of your emotions.
